3DeeV in a new look

The website of 3Deev has been renewed. Some minor things still get changed though. Generally everything is working again. The portfolio galleries show new images now and present them in a more interesting way. The content is the same but 2 projects are still missing and will be added as soon as they are fully complete since they get revised as well.

Super Yacht Kaiserwerft Baron 40.6 “Catwalk”

Another project for www.3deev.com I have made. The M/Y Catwalk is supposed to be shown in a real-time stand alone application. The user shall be able to walk around the decks and discover the yacht on his own. An animated ocean, a calm skybox and up-to-date post effects may improve the overall impression of the Catwalk.

2D flight deck of a Boeing 737-300

It’s finally done. Another job from Lufthansa was to rebuild the entire flight deck of a Boeing 737-300 in 2d for high resolution prints. It’s one of the machines they train their pilots in. That was an interesting project because I never tried to fake 3d in 2d. In the end I’m very satisfied with the result. Nearly the entire flight deck is made in 2d except for some minor elements. With many photos of their flight simulator and the support of Lufthansa I could work as accurate as it wouldn’t be possible with internet references only.

Black Prophecy is alive

Finally the space MMO Black Prophecy sees the light of the day. After years of development with ups and downs we managed it to bring this game to life. It’s a fast paced action space shooter like Freelancer or Wing Commander. The game is “Free To Play” and can be downloaded from www.blackprophecy.com.

Striking a new path

A new period of life is beginning. Independence. After 9 years at Reakktor I resigned my job as 3d artist/art director and want to start my own career. I received a lot of job offers the past few years but didn’t want to accept most of them due to my current job. This is no guarantee for succes in the future of course but at least the job offers spoke for my work. From May 2nd on it’s official from legal side. I’m going to start as freelancer and will see if ideas and plans come true.

First attempt of serious realtime product visualization

The Samsung SGH-G600, a cell phone, is the first attempt of making a serious realtime product visualization with foucs on materials, lighting and reflections. It’s the phone I’m currently using, an oldie but still working ;) . I wanted to try something usual instead of more super cars all over again. The stuff is still in 3ds Max only but I intend to get this into unity as well. Watch the gallery for detailed images.

The gallery has been updated

For now my intention is to complete the gallery with best stuff I have done the last few years. Well, not everything is worth to be shown but I found some treasures though. By and by I’m going to clean up the gallery images. In most cases I need to recreate them. Screenshots in higher resolution, rerender due to lack of render experience years ago and so on… .

The gallery contains projects like the Nissan Skyline for the game rFactor, the Messerschmitt BF109 for the Microsoft Flight Simulator, some commercial stuff like the Eiffel Tower for the game Emergency 2012 and also additional images for the TripleS Pandemonium. Enjoy them.

The Gallardo and Pandemonium go public.

The gallery is showing a first  selection of projects. The first one is a concept car  which I’ve done some time ago. It’t actually not final yet because of a missing cockpit, mapping and textures but the exterior is done. When I touch the model again I find more issues to fix for sure but for the moment everything is still fine.

The second project is my current one. The Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4. It’s a medium spec project as well as the concept car. Right now only the exterior is done. This car definitely gets a cockpit and engine. Even a modular color scheme system is included which allows dynamic schemes without using textures. It’s a gimmick just for fun but spits out pretty cool results.

Finally, the website is online.

After waiting for years that someone helped me creating a website I finally found the motivation to do it by myself. Thankfully there are powerful tools available. Fortunately it wasn’t as hard as I expected. So here I am.
